With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Paul R. Hodgekiss in Wheeling, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 1, 2025 at the age of 80. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Paul had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Paul may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Wilson and Irene Hodgekiss Wilson (Schmidt); and his sister Cecilia Ann Williams. He is survived by: his wife Amy Hodgekiss (Rushforth); his children, Gladys Lough (Mike Young), Patricia, Ervin (Renee Sayre) and Annie Hodgekiss; and his brothers, Willard and Murice "Moe" Hodgekiss. He is also survived by his three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Altmeyer Funeral Home (1400 Eoff St, Wheeling, WV 26003). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
