He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Kanick and Julia Kanick; his brother Stephen W. Kanick; and his siblings-in-law, Robert DeMeritt and Edith Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Tammy Kanick; his stepchildren, Jeffery Hastings, Jr. (Kristee), Joshua Hastings (Tiffany) and Lacie Ferrell (Ryan); his stepgrandchildren, Gavin, Grant, Olivia, Tyler, Taylor, Alexis and Allie; his parents-in-law, Clair and Gladys DeMeritt; his sister Sandra Harsh; his sister-in-law Sharon Kanick; his nieces and nephews, Greg Harsh (Anna), Chad Kanick (Suzanne), Nick Rice (Belinda), Magan Delaney (Trevor) and Jennifer Coperich (Steve); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brooklyn, Amara, Luke, Grace, Kaitlyn and Nicolas; his friends, Mike and Paula McDermott; and his pets, Oscar and Midnight. He is also survived by several aunts, many cousins.
