He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard, Sr. McGilton and Alberta McGilton (Poole); his sister Carolyn "Kay" Simmons of Alto, GA; and his siblings-in-law, Reyna Cheslick of Woodhaven, MI and Gary Lutes of St. Clairsville, OH..

He is survived by: his wife Kathy McGilton (Cheslick); his children, Kara Dougherty (Dan Yanok), Jason McGilton, Andrew McGilton, Megan Dougherty and Kaydyn McGilton; his siblings, Joyce Lutes of St. Clairsville, OH, Mark of Pittsburgh, PA and Kevin (Terry) of Navarre, FL; and his brothers-in-law, Walt Cheslick (Sonny) of Woodhaven, MI, Mark Cheslick of Moundsville, WV and Garen Simmons of Alto, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
