He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Ammons and Muriel Jones Ammons of Westover; his wife Mary; his children, Donna Ammons Smith and Neil Ammons; and his siblings, Jim Ammons of Rochester, NY, Bob Ammons of Morgantown, John Thomas Ammons of Tennessee and Jane Nabors of Salem.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Stephanie Heilman (Andy) of Leesport and Alex Smith (Ceci Weber) of Austin; his great grandchildren, Noah, Carson and Jack; and his siblings, Janet Nabors of Redmond, Sally Melatti of Lompoc and Frank Ammons (Clorinda) of Morgantown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Jack's wishes, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 447 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV, 26505.
