He was predeceased by: his parents, William H Rowan and Bessie L Brockman Rowan Golden; and his former wife Cheryl Rowan. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Stout Rowan; his children, Gwendolyn Donaldson Blake of Clarksburg, Jodie Rowan of Clarksburg, Heather McVay (Daniel) of Chandler, OK, Jason Rowan (Amanda) of Weston, Jake Rowan (Andra) of French Creek and Matthew Ellis (Rachel) of Rosemont; his grandchildren, Morgan, Austin, Jaxson, McKinleigh, Laine, Cole, Aubrey, Greyson, Everley, Jaxtyn, Jade and Braven; and his siblings, Barbara McVaney (Ron) of Buckhannon, David Rowan (Paulette) of Philippi and Neil Golden Jr. (Crystal) of Weston.
