He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sylvester and Katherine Jean Perrine Watson; his brothers-in-law, Junior Reed and Delbert Skinner; his nephew Herbie Skinner; and his niece Cynthia Michelle Watson.
He is survived by: his significant other Hazel Marie Williams; his children, Janet McCorkhill (Charlie) of Weston, Lori Lovegrove (Bobby Marks) of Philippi and Samuel "Ed" Watson II (Jennifer) of Weston; his grandchildren, Chelsie, Cheyiannea Watson, Matthew, Mark Lovegrove, Samuel "Trey" Watson III and Bailey Watson; and his siblings, John S. Watson (Donna) of Weston, Merle Arthur Watson (Kathy) of Weston, James Allen Watson (Pam) of Roanoke, Sarah Edna Reed of Roanoke and Cynthia Lou Skinner of Seneca Rocks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
