He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Dexter Posey and Mintie Jane Posey (Singleton); his daughter Jane Marie Posey Barrett; and his siblings, Buelah Jane Posey Carr, Ruth Amanda Posey Tonkin, Oren Dexter Posey, Minter Owen Posey, Carl Newton Posey, Michael Dexter Posey, Frank Posey, Russell Junior Posey, Ira James Posey, Frederick Grant Posey and John Alfred Posey.
He is survived by: his wife Hazel Marie Posey (Linger); his children, Susan Lynn Posey of Herndon, VA, John Michael Posey (Joanna) of Weston, Ricky Dee Posey (Princetti) of Weston and Robert Lee Posey (Valerie) of Weston; and his grandchildren, Miranda Dawn Posey, James Robert Posey (Jessica), Joshua Michael Posey (Julie), Carley Jane Posey, Janine Michelle Posey and Lauren Nicole Posey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
