He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ralph and Shirley Jesse Lough Lattea; his wife Lydia Katherine Linkswallow; his daughter Connie Lattea; his granddaughter Tasha Chipps; his great grandchild Ashton Matheny; and his siblings, Thelma Springer and Dillard Henline.
He is survived by: his children, Nathan Lattea of Weston, Patricia Bean of Ellenboro, Steven Matheny of Jackson Mill, Peggy Posey (David) of Stonewood, Lydia "Liza" Kelly (Brian) of Miletus, James "Jimbob" Lattea of Jackson Mill and George Lattea (Andria) of Clarksburg; his stepchildren, Orphus Matheny (Linda) of Glenn Falls, Alma Nicholson (Jim) of Bristol, WV and Brenda Riley (Rick) of Glenn Falls; his grandchildren, Corey Matheny, Brett Matheny, Justin Matheny, Colleen Matheny, Christopher Lattea, Brittany Brown and Hunter Posey; and his sister Trudy McKinney of Clarksburg.
In lieu of flowers, James' family has requested donations be made to Pat Boyle Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
