He was predeceased by: his parents, Thead Allen Pumphrey and Lettie Sprouse Pumphrey; his wife Thelma Jean Conrad Pumphrey; his sons, Robert Pumphrey, Denzil Pumphrey and Darrell Pumphrey; and his daughter-in-law Connie Pumphrey.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Ables (Mike) of Wolf Pen and Dale Edward Pumphrey (Debbie "Diane") of Weston; and his sisters, Jean and Helen. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
