He was predeceased by: his parents, Lane Godfrey and Mary Godfrey; and his nephew Steven Lane Messenger. He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth Godfrey of Jane Lew and Della Persinger of Buckhannon; his niece Christina Knight (Ronnie) of Weston; and his nephew Ricky Goldsmith.
