He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Brockleman and Beatrice Waneta Posey; his son Charles "Punkin" Posey Jr.; and his sister Vietta Posey. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Lee Robinson of Weston; his sons, Billy Posey (Meranda) of Weston and Kayson Posey of Weston; his grandchildren, Nathaniel of Lewis County, Ryan of Lewis County, Bryce of Lewis County, Brandon of Lewis County, Quentin of Lewis County and Wyatt Posey of Lewis County; and his siblings, Marilyn Freeman (Ernest "Al") of Parkersburg and James Posey of Elkins.
