He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Batten and Orpha Batten (Paugh); his sisters, Ellen June Lewis, Juanita Maxine Mick and Lillian Waldeck; and his stepson James Bradford Thayer.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra J. (Scarff); his children, Sonya Butcher (Eddie) of Jane Lew, Pamela Fisher (Ed) of Fairmont and Larry Crook (Kristi) of Weston; his stepdaughters, Teresa Thayer of Canton, OH and Carla Thayer of Clarksburg; his sister Frankie Kalafat (John) of Morgantown; and his brother-in-law Clifford Mick of Weston.
