He is survived by: his wife Vickie Spence Payton; his children, Daniel Payton (Samantha), Christopher Payton, Brenda Payton and Misty Tacey; his grandchildren, Abby Payton, Brady Tacey and Landon Gillispie; and his siblings, Gary Payton (Lois), Larry Payton (Julie), Freddie Payton (Sandy), Greg Farley (Donna), Doris Brooks (Frank), Donzil Payton (Janet), Linda Hayes (Harold), Teresa Clay and Greg McComas.
