He was predeceased by: his parents, Denver Persons and Betty Persons; his grandparents, Elchard, Stella Persons, Henry and Reva Cutlip; and his stepfathers, Jack Mercer and Ronald Hart.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Angela Hubbard; his children, Rochelle Gloeckner, Deni Persons, Caddric Zerkle and David Persons Jr.; and his siblings, Dennis Persons (Pam), Reva Foster (Nelson) and Lisa Reed (Charles). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, along with several stepbrothers and stepsisters.
