He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Birkhimer and Martha Summers Birkhimer; and his sister Nancy (Harold DeGarmo). He is survived by: his caregiver Mary Ann DeGarmo of Wellsburg, WV; his daughter Brandi Birkhimer; his mother-in-law Anna DeGarmo; and his grandchildren, Jockey and Piper Huff (Fitzgerald Gallant). He is also survived by his friends, aunts, uncles & cousins.
