He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Matney and Nodie Underwood Matney; his wife Carol Sue Matney; his daughter Kim Collinsworth; and his brothers, Jessie, Marvin and Cecil Matney.
He is survived by: his children, Jed Collinsworth, Chuck Collinsworth of Fountain Inn, SC and Renee Dawn Miller (John) of Denver, NC; and his siblings, Lawrence Matney (Dolly) of Newhall, Kenneth Matney of Coalwood, Hazel Curry (Joe) of Bandy, VA, Lena Hicks of Berwind and Mary Falgiani (Quinto) of War. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
