He is survived by: his pet Hairston Sr.; his children, Marvin Hairston (Dan), Kimberly Johnson (Charles), John Hairston Jr. (Yvonne), Glenn Hairston, Lynn Hairston, Jonnessa Hairston and Logan Hairston (Karri); his grandchildren, La Tressa, Serena, Samyah, Anahyah, Shanahyah, Jamal, Mariya, Eli, Lucas, Levi, Abel and Leland; his former wife Cynthia Hairston of Michigan; and his siblings, Stephen Hairston (Nerissa), Ronald Hairston, Drema Hairston and Lynn Hairston (Chandra). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
