He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith McCarthy Barrett Custer and Charles A. Barrett; and his brother James Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Barrett; his stepchildren, Nancy Basile (Ross) of Lancaster, PA and Louis Martin (Krista) of Clinton, PA; his stepgrandchildren, Michael and Jane Basile; his nieces, Beth Anderson (David) of Weirton, WV, Kathy Barrett of Weirton, WV and Lora Underwood (Mike) of Weirton, WV; his nephew Mike Barrett (Marie) of Keene, NH; and his great-nieces, Amanda, Jennifer, Linsey, Emma and Eileen.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home (3219 Main St, Weirton, WV 26062). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church (425 N 4th St, Steubenville, OH 43952). A burial was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (94 Mount Calvary Ln, Steubenville, OH 43952).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Weirton Madonna High School or St. Jude's Research Hospital, reflecting Bill's commitment to education and compassion.
