With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Mae Poland (Weirton, West Virginia), born in Cameron, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 17, 2024 at the age of 92. As Shirley Mae departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Shirley Mae. Though Shirley Mae may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert A. Lemley and Ethel M. Dent Lemley; her husband Dwain E. Poland; her brother Donald Lemley; and her daughter Dianne Whitehead Doyle.
She is survived by: her daughter Gail Van Horn; her son-in-law Randy Whitehead; and her grandchildren, Jason Van Horn, Mitchell Van Horn and Laura Whitehead. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
