He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Thornton Pizzoferrato and Alice Pizzoferrato (Fish); his former wife Millie; his fiancée Carolyn Barnhart (Buchanan); and his children, Rebecca Louise Devore and Richard Joseph Pizzoferrato.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Ashley and Devon Devore (family: Daniel Barnhart). He is also survived by great grandchildren and his addition family and caregiver.
