He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Burns Vorhees and Beatrice Pauline Vorhees (Francy); his wife Joan Henderson; his brother Gareth "Garry" (Dorothy); and his siblings-in-law, Martha and Jack Robinson.
He is survived by: his grandchild Lauren Zeigler; his children, Carol Vorhees-Zeigler (Jim), Donna Vorhees (Andrew Gottlieb), Lauren, Alex and Mary Ruth Kraina (John); his grandson Joe Kraina; his daughter-in-law Kaitlin (Varner); his grandchildren-in-law, Brooks and Collins; and also, Brooks and Collins Kraina.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Mel's honor to the First Christian Church, 3252 Main St, Weirton, WV.
