It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Charnie (Weirton, West Virginia), who passed away on April 11, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Bodnar and Stella Baron Bodnar; and her sisters, Kathryn Bodnar, Emma Davies and Catherine Iaconis.
She is survived by: her children, George J. Charnie, Jr. (Paul), Mary Kaye Charnie-Druliner (Tony) and Marilyn Charnie; her grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth "Marni" Vanacore (Andrew), Christopher, Robert, Georgia, Danny Druliner, Danielle Monson (Justin), Patrick (Ashley), Carly, Kevin Callinan and Tommy Charnie; her great grandchildren, Bobby, Gianna, Mary Elizabeth, Vivian Vanacore and Kaeden Monson; and her sisters, Dorothy Grecula and Margie Kendrach.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church or the Weirton Community Bread Basket. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Mary Elizabeth Charnie 's name.
