He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Garan and Martha Garan (Goban); his wife Dorothy Yaskho Garan; and his siblings, Ann Gerbo (Nick), Bill Pasternick (Margaret), Michael, Helen Vincej (Mike), Joseph (Margaret), John (Martha) and Mary Perozich (Mario).
He is survived by: his daughters, Maureen Dumbaugh (Jack) of Pittsburgh, Cathleen Mankosa (Michael) of Erie and Janet Winwood (Scott) of Weirton; his grandchildren, Mari Dumbaugh, Julie Romanin (Steve), Kristen Mankosa (Jonathan), Michael Mankosa (Kim), Nicholas Mankosa (Gabriella), Michelle Winwood (Andrew) and Eric Winwood; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, William Romanin and Wesley George Mankosa; and his in-laws, Olga Garan, Mary Wheeler, Nick Yashko and Ed Rice. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
