He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Smith, Sr. and Esther Bowers Smith; his wife Arlene L. Hoke Smith; his son David E. Smith, Sr.; and his sisters, June Anderson and Betty Gates.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Lucas (John) of Weirton and Jody Pitchford (Jeff) of Martinez, GA; and his daughter-in-law Anna Pavel Smith of Weirton. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Thursday, October 10th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Colliers United Methodist Church (318 Pennsylvania Ave, Colliers, WV 26035).
