He is survived by: his wife Oneta Newlon Powell; his sons, Ron, Gary (Doreen) and Justin; and his sister Evelyn. He is also survived by three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and twelve step-great-grandchildren.
