He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnett Short and Rosie Short; and his sister Nancy Hinkle. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Jane Stalnaker Short; his children, Richard Wayne Short (Lynette), Scott Eugene Short (April), Christopher Lee Short (Lisa) and Mitzi Ellen Carpenter (Jason); and his siblings, Jack Short (Elisa), Mary Williams (Ronald), Mazy Anderson and Margie Short. He is also survived by five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
