He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Jackson and Edith Enix Messer; and his siblings, Bobbie, Donald, Richard, Eugene, Billie Messer and Darlene Deel.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Cole Messer; his son Eric Lee Messer (Stephanie); his stepdaughters, Pat Gosh (Joe) and Sharon Wood (Spencer); and his sisters, Sandra Hammond (Bud) and Patricia Sutphin (Alan). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and others extended family.
