He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Payne and Patricia Payne; his daughter Erika K. Payne; and his brother John R. "Poke" Payne. He is survived by: his son Kole Payne of Charlotte, NC; his sisters, Carol Stout (Gary) and Charlotte Adkins; his nieces, Tracy, Dallas and Hollyn Helmick; his nephew Cory Adkins; and his close friends, Donna and Bri of Oakboro, NC.
