It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Herbert Edgar Short (Webster Springs, West Virginia), born in Calvin, West Virginia, who passed away on May 5, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Short and Josie Quinn Short; and his siblings, Ann Springston, Margaret Riffle and Spurgon Short.
He is survived by: his wife Wuanita Riffle Short; his children, Anita Taylor (Dwayne) of Webster Springs and Herbert II (Peggy Groves) of Flatwoods; his siblings, Dan Short of Birch River, Mont Short of Glade View, Phyllis Bender of Webster Springs, Melinda White of Webster Springs and Peggy Rhodes of Little Birch; his grandchildren, Kayla Sims, Adam Everson, Jewel Short, Latha Dumire and Brandon Short; and his great grandchildren, KalEl, Elli, Thea, Noah, Jayden, Kaydence, Leland, Jace and Owen. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic both CDC and state guidelines for social distancing and face covering are recommended.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Morris Funeral Home P.O. Box 267, Cowen, WV 26206 to help with funeral expenses.
