He was predeceased by: his parents, Carey "C. W." Trautwein and Reba Riggs Trautwein; his brothers, Glen, Kenneth and Jerry Trautwein; and his sisters-in-law, Anita and Norva Trautwein.

He is survived by: his significant other Bonnie Sue Mathis Trautwein; his siblings-in-law, Jonah Mathis (Tommia Jean), Steve Terry (Nancy), Della Trautwein and Bill Thompson; and his caregiver Carey Lynn Dillon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
