He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Ward and Mary Ward; his wife Evelyn Ward; his son Michael Ward; his granddaughter-in-law Norma Ward; and his siblings, Betty Terry, Josephine Ward, Clifford Ward, Mary Ward and Juanita Wellman.
He is survived by: his children, Christina Carpenter (Sam) of South Point, Peggy Carpenter (Joe) of Coolville and Roy Ward (Dee) of Wayne; his daughter-in-law Mary Jane Ward of Kenova; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Henry of Lesage. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
