She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. John Dean and Emma Workman Dean; and her husband John F. Rutherford. She is survived by: her sons, John Michael Rutherford (Rosemary) of Wayne, WV and Joseph Jeffrey Rutherford (Jeanette) of Lavalette, WV; her grandchildren, Chelsea Rutherford Chisholm (Alex), Tyler Rutherford (Erica), Shannon Rutherford and Kylie Jo Rutherford; and her great grandchildren, John Abel Rutherford and Noa Reese Rutherford.
Due to family concerns regarding Covid-19, a private graveside service will be held for the family at Elmwood Cemetery by Pastor Fred Ferguson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wayne Baptist Church in memory of Ernestine.
