He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Brad Mathis and Maudie Mathis (Maynard); his wife Pearl Jean Mathis (Holland); his siblings, Bill, Carroll Mathis and Delores Saunders; his children, Teresa Mathis of Clayton, NC, Brad Mathis of Summerville, SC, Laura Stollings (Dale) of Wayne, Mark Mathis (Diane) of South Point, OH, Mike Mathis of Kenova, WV, Jennifer Riley of Wayne and Arletta Markovitz (Jim) of Bridgeville, PA.; and his siblings, Fannie Murray (Gary) of Huntington, Betty Miller of Huntington, James Mathis (Claire) of Florence, SC and Arthur (Mary). He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
