He is survived by: his wife Deborah Knotts; his children, Michael Knotts of Kirby, WV, Brenda Stutler (Denzil) of Vienna, WV, Lorena Stewart of Akron, OH, Kelly Knotts of Mineral Wells, WV and Lora Buchanan (Michael) of Amity, PA; his grandchildren, April, Richard, Amy, George, Amanda, Blake and Lexi; and his siblings, Ancel Knotts, Lucy Attkisson, Linda Ganoe, Dottie Poling, Twilah Blevins, Lalah Dowell, Lana Baker and Darlene Hoambrecker. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
