He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Curkendall and Bessie Payne Curkendall; his siblings, Beryl Hall, Mary Smearman, Joann Simons, Deward, Ron, Kenny, John and Wayne; and his in-laws, Carrie Lee Cleavenger and John D. Cleavenger.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Cleavenger Curkendall; his daughters, Amy Deso (Rob) and Lisa Weaver (Sam); his brothers, Gary Curkendall (Judy) and Max Curkendall; his grandchildren, Sam Deso, Will Deso, Trace Weaver (Dayana) and Tyler Vogel (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Keith, Darcy, Rose Vogel and Mateo Weaver; his nieces and nephews, Heather, Derek, Bryce, Hayden, Reese Weaver, Mike, Tracy, Gerald Thompson, Linda Wagner, Brian Curkendall, Lowell Munday, Todd Curkendall and Kathy Curkendall; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Cleavenger and Rose Curkendall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org in Sam's memory.
