He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Ivan Phillips and Lovie Ruth Phillips (Roach). He is survived by: his wife Sue Phillips; his daughters, Brenda Phillips of Vienna and Sandra Lott (Phil) of The Villages, FL; his grandchildren, Sherri Mulwee (Mike), Matthew Johnston (Mae) and Valerie Munger (Rob); and his brother Billy Phillips. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
