She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Scott and Sarah P. Smith; her husband Charles E. Vance; her sons, Thomas Scott Vance and George E. Vance; and her sister Helen Marsh.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy V. Hahn of Rio, WV, Michel E. Vance of Wardensville, WV, Robert A. "Bob" Vance (Karen) of Longmont, CO, William L. Vance (Kathy) of Winchester, VA and James W. "Jim" Vance (Dama) of Wardensville, WV; and her sister Vieva Harlow of Winston Salem, NC. She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
