He was predeceased by: his parents, Augustus Pruitt and Nancy Jane Hagerman Pruitt; his wife Elnora Pruitt; and his sons, Steven Rex and Regan Pruitt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Peery (Doug) of Bluefield, WV, Patty Muncy (LeRoy) of Tazewell, VA and Jennifer Helton (Kevin); his grandchildren, Byron Keith Pruitt, Eden Lester, Jesse Peery, R. J. Helton and Erin Helton; and his great grandchildren, Boston Pruitt, Kerrigan Pruitt, Sophia Lester, Isabella Lester and Jase Peery.
