He was predeceased by: his brother Tom Sprout. He is survived by: his wife Karen Davis Sprout; his son Matthew Sprout (Nicole); his siblings, Ed Sprout (Louvina) and Teresa Wilharm (Steve); and his sister-in-law Linda Sprout.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Broadway Church of the Nazarene (901 Broadway Ave, Parkersburg, WV 26101). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to Old Man Rivers Mission 703 Pike St. Parkersburg, WV 26101.
