She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Layfield and Mae Layfield (McNemar); her husband Charles Edward McPherson; her children, Ruth Edra Bailey and Charles Michael McPherson; her siblings, Rosco Layfield, Bert Layfield, Ruby Layfield, Lucy Layfield, Bertha Layfield (Gordon) and Mildred Layfield; and her stepdaughter Helen Adams.
She is survived by: her children, Richard D. McPherson of Walker, WV, Jo Nichols (Kendel) of Parkersburg, Joy Hall (Thomas) of Parkersburg and Joan Lee of Cairo; and her grandchildren, Tracy Spiker, Roger Bailey Jr., Gina Lee, Charles McPherson, Jonna Haymaker, Mallory Bilodeau, Cody Nichols, Kaitly Johnson, Wesley Hall and Tyler Hall. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
