It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Fridley Clarkson (Waiteville, West Virginia), born in Low Moor, Virginia, who passed away on April 10, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Nelson Fridley and Hattie Painter Fridley Hellems of Virginia; her son Earl Ray Clarkson; her half-sister Carrie Fridley Dawe; and her brother Robert Nelson Fridley.
She is survived by: her children, Jean Rock (Melvin) of Waiteville, Roland Clarkson Jr. of New Castle, Joseph Wayne Clarkson (Linda Of Roanoke), Allen Clarkson (Phyllis) of Waiteville, Dana Rock (Terry) of Kernersville, NC, Clara Surface (Bruce) of Waiteville, Mary Katherine Meadows (Gale) of Paint Bank and Marie Clarkson of Waiteville; and her sister Margaret Irene Clarkson of Paint Bank. She is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grand Children.
In keeping with the guidelines of the current pandemic crisis, a Private Graveside services will be held Tuesday April 14, 2020 at Waiteville Cemetery, Waiteville WV with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
