He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen A. Shockey and Ila T. Smith Shockey; and his siblings, Keith Shockey and Vicki Shockey. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Shockey; his children, Mark Shockey Jr. (Heather) of Cleveland, OH, Amy Ray of Murfreesboro, TN. and Crystal Boyter (Robert) of Parkersburg, WV; his brother Brian Shockey (Brenda); and his grandchildren, Douglas Gillespie (Kimberly), Abigail Boyter, Lyle Moncier, Leonard Moncier (Sarah), Robert Moncier, Damon Shockey, Buddy Ray, James Ray (Morelia), Michaela Harris (Cordell) and Benjamin Ray. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home (1934 Dupont Rd, Parkersburg, WV 26101).
