He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Elmore and Juanita Stemm Elmore Anguish; his significant other Nancy Thompson; and his sisters, Shirley McCloud, Dorothy Medley, Ellen Wines, Hilda Shepherd and Ada Wells.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tina Ellison (Larry) of Parkersburg, Mary Thompson of Vienna and Sheri Leisure (Jeff) of Mechanicsville, VA; his grandchildren, Sabrena McKinney (Eddie), Stacy Tichy (Steven), Daphne Jeffrey (Jansen), Gordon Ellison (Elizabeth) and Samantha Godsey (Scottie); and his great grandchildren, Sadie, Gracie, Ellie, Payson, Lucas, Maddie, Adlee of Jameson and Kent. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
