She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Lang and Alma Lang (Byrd); her husband Donzel Whipkey; her son James Logan Whipkey; and her sibling Charles Lang of Lucille Hardman.

She is survived by: her children, Steven Whipkey (Elaine), Gregory Whipkey, Pam Russell, Michael Whipkey, Mark Whipkey (Debbie), Donzel Whipkey (Donna) and Paul Hagemann; her daughter-in-law Mary Pierson of Charlene Whipkey; her grandchildren, Brent, Justin, Stephie, Heather, Mike, Jason, Mark, Krissy and Adam; and her pets, Nick, Zelda, Bear and Dolly.
