He was predeceased by: his mother Susan Louise VanMeter; his grandparents, Gillispie "Pete" Nazelrodt and Margie Nazelrodt; his aunt Barbara Kimble; and his uncle Danny Nesselrodt.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Whetzel (Heavener); his son Danny VanMeter (Kayisha) of Morgantown, WV; his grandson Maverick VanMeter; his stepfathers, Lester "Pete" VanMeter (Rachel) of Upper Tract, WV and Elwood Myers of Moorefield, WV; his sisters, Danielle Grogg (Dakota) of Maysville, WV and Jeannie Whetzel of Staunton, VA; his nieces and nephews, Blakely and Braxton Grogg; his cousins, Timmy, Larry and Robert Evans; and his close friends, Ben Shreve, Ruth VanMeter and Alvy Humphreys. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
