He is survived by: his children, Robin Hicks, Kerri Ritchie and John Simms, Jr.; his siblings, Gilda Burdette and Jack Simms; and his grandchildren, Rachelle Simms, Jeremiah Perry, Brayden Ritchie, Gavin Ritchie, Donovan Ritchie, Hunter Sherman, Jacinda Simms, Kacey St. Clair and Caleb Hicks.
