He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmer W. Sponaugle and Nellie Bowers Sponaugle; his wife Carrie Kelley Sponaugle; his daughter Kimberly Towner; his grandson Alan Childers; and his half-siblings, Richard Sponauglej and Joyce Schreiner.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Childers of Richwood, IN, Daniel Sponaugle, Jeffrey Sponaugle, Devin Sponaugle, Baumholder, Germany, Joe Sponaugle and Zachary Sponaugle; and his siblings, Wilva Lafferty, Land of Lakes, FL, Gladys Roth, Clyde Sponaugle, Donald Gurney and Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
