She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas and Florence Hoke Lucas; her husband Jessie Samuel South Sr.; and her son Jessie Samuel South Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Helen Begley of Daleville, VA, Gracie Smith (Doug) of Chrisney, IN, Mary Dunn (Marshall) of Peterstown, WV, Millie Martin (Tommy) of Gap Mills, WV and Dale South (Drema) of Union, WV; and her siblings, Kate Miller of Union, WV and Arnold Lucas. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home (715 Sweet Springs Valley Rd, Union, WV 24983). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
