He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Adkins and Ruth Sexton Adkins; his wife Agnes Palmer Adkins; his children, Patricia, Kathryn Adkins, Dora Faris and Danny Paul Adkins; his grandson Andy Adkins; his great grandchild Logan Hartwell; and his brother Ray Adkins.
He is survived by: his stepmother Edra Adkins; his daughters, Mary Huffman (Bryan) of Wayside, Melissa Ward (Daniel) of Sandstone and Ruth Hartwell (Doug) of Sand Knob; his grandchildren, Elijah, Justin, Leslie Dawn, Danni Jo, Carrie, Samantha, Matthew, Dennis, Thomas, Katie, Austin and Joshua; and his siblings, Charles Adkins, Frank Adkins (Margaret) of Pipestem, Roger Adkins of Hinton, Cletis Adkins (Sue Ellen) of Hilldale, David Adkins (Julie) of Hilldale, James Adkins of Hilldale, Melda Phillips of Lerona, Twila Freeman, Connie Woodrum (Tom) of Hinton, Judy Lilly of Beckley and Carolyn Sherwood of Hilldale.
