As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Helen Louise may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Matterson and Mary Irene Hatton; her husband Herman Eugene Shepherd; and her son James Hatton. She is survived by: her children, Latricia Shepherd, Barbara Mitchell, Harold Shepherd and Anthony Shepherd; her adoptive son John Thaxton; and her daughters-in-law, Elaine Shepherd (Anthony) and Kaylee Kloss (Latricia). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).
